Dr. Stephens is the President and Co-Founder of CorrValues, LLC. His expertise includes providing consultation, assessment and training on correctional mental health; church and university safety and security and critical incident debriefing; and family issues, including premarital training, marriage training, and parenting training. He also provides direct clinical services, including having many years experience providing counseling for marriages and for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, panic, substance abuse and other addictions, trauma, serious mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and developmental issues such as ADHD and autism. He has extensive experience helping couples improve and heal their marriage through premarital and marriage counseling, which includes working with the issues that arise with stepfamilies. He also specializes in assessing and treating concussions, dementia, and other cognitive problems that require neuropsychological expertise.
Dr. Stephens's approach is to work with you to identify the source of the problem and to help you develop skills to overcome it. Issues such as depression, anxiety and panic are particularly troubling and cause high levels of distress, but can be effectively treated, and in many cases without the need for medication. We will work with you to find the most effective ways to treat what is bringing you into counseling, and to help you go through the Hope-Relief-Freedom process as efficiently as possible.
